Before any consultation—whether in-person or remote—we verify the client's identity and ensure there is no conflict of interest. Then we ask the client to provide a brief and focused outline of the issue at hand, preferably in short e mail before scheduled meeting. If we can assist the client in this matter, during the initial consultation, we outline possible courses of action and solutions. If these are clear and acceptable to the client, we proceed to agree upon the terms of the legal assistance agreement.

PRICE OF A LEGAL CONSULTATION
The fees for legal services provided by “CersJurkāns” are determined individually through a legal services agreement, based on the complexity of the client's case, the scope of work, and the timeline for completion. Value Added Tax (VAT) is applied to the total invoice amount. The fee for the initial consultation (up to one hour) is standardized for all clients at 150 euro, plus VAT.
LEGAL SERVICES
When we begin working on a client’s case, we first assess the current situation—how far the client has progressed with the matter, what stage the litigation or other process is at, and what has already taken place. We pay particular attention to various deadlines, as missing one can often lead to irreparable consequences. We are also punctual in our own work, agreeing on a deadline with the client and adhering to it. If necessary, we act as the client’s authorised representatives and perform all required legal actions on the basis of a power of attorney, keeping the client informed about the progress of the case.
What matters most in our work are the facts initially disclosed by the client, which allow us to determine the next steps. If there are multiple options, we discuss them with the client and choose the most appropriate one for the situation. Most often, the work of “CersJurkāns” results in a written document—a contract, a warning, a statement of claim, or an appeal—but it may also involve representing the client's interests in court or at a shareholders’ meeting.
If documents or other evidence that are not in the client’s possession are needed to protect their interests, we request them from third parties and obtain them using all rights granted to lawyers under the Advocacy Law of the Republic of Latvia and other legislation. We also advise the client on the necessity of obtaining opinions or assessments from various specialists and, if needed, assist in formulating assignments for these experts."
“CersJurkāns” lawyers are satisfied when their work results in a favorable court judgment, a successfully concluded contract, or another legal solution that resolves the client’s problem.
LEGAL ADVICE
“CersJurkāns” lawyers prefer to organise the initial meeting and legal consultation with the client in person. Recognising that this may not always be feasible—due to the client's absence, illness, or other circumstances—it is also possible to outline potential solutions via telephone, email, or online communication. As previously mentioned, in all cases, before assessing the client's issue, we verify the client's identity and ensure there is no conflict of interest. We also request a brief and concise statement of the problem from the client. If, after the initial consultation, the client chooses to proceed with “CersJurkāns”, further cooperation is formalised through the client's identification form and a written agreement for the provision of legal services.
